seeker fellowship finances

(developing ideas and concepts)

in the beginning

In the beginning we all were separate, isolated and remote - we were sleeping late on Sunday mornings and, most likely not contributing financially to any local spiritual gathering. We became aware that to build a community that could meet our visions, a financial committment would be required, hence these exercises.

Firstly, we found a facility at a non-profit organization and have been able to use their facility once per week in exchange for some labor contributed to maintenance of their facility and a nominal cash contribution. It is in our plan to begin to make further financial contributions as we develop.

Our only other cost has been snacks and beverages for Sunday morning breakfast, and initially those have all been contributed by our members. We have begun to ask for a nominal weekly contribution to pay for the beverages, snacks and room usage.

developing stages

I. If, early on, our only expense is to contribute $10-12 for the use of the non-profit's hall, and we pass the hat and recieve a minimum of $1-3 each from 6-8 people, we should cover a reasonable amount that should be donated for the use of the hall, and may have additional funds for some other minor expenses or treasury-building.

II. Once members are dedicated to the vision of acquiring our own rental space, contributions will rise to enable that vision to be implemented. Here's a table to show possible effect of member donations, given that the goal would be to save up a nest egg to allow us the prosperity to put down money on a space:
