Nashua, in New-Hampshire

The Merrimack valley area seekers are establishing a seminar and discussion series on life skills through a fuller understanding of the inter-relatedness of all areas of knowledge and of our lives. We encourage the "half-full" rather than the "half-empty" approach to life and accept as our quest the mission of learning how to fill it, as much as we can, the rest of the way.

We feel that there is no need to accept that life will always deal one a raw deal and that there is nothing that can be done about it - rather we attempt to empower the individual to learn the possibilities of life, since many have arrived as an adult without knowing how to live.

We also make referrals to appropriate outside educational, social or self-help growth paths, where there is a known organization.

7 March 2004 - Binny Clark spoke on the basic meditation practice of Buddhism (shamatha vipassana). Binny is a practicioner of 30 years and a student of Trungpa Rinpoche.

Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche was one of the most dynamic teachers of Buddhism in the 20th Century. He was a pioneer in bringing the Buddhist teachings of Tibet to the West and is credited for introducing many important Buddhist concepts into the English language and psyche in a fresh and unique way. No less an authority than the Oxford English Dictionary cites his use of the word ego in one of its definitions. He started the first Buddhist-inspired University in North America: The Naropa University; founded more than 100 meditation centres throughout the world; authored two dozen popular books on meditation, Buddhism, poetry, art and the Shambhala path of warriorship; brought many of the great Tibetan lineage holders to North America for the first time; and attracted several thousand students who have continued to spread his teachings and his legacy into the new milllenium.

4 April 2004 - meeting held among our regular attenders
2 May 2004 - Fred Mitchell spoke on a new view of the scientific method.

Our summer 2004 "First Sunday" meetings are being scheduled now

6 June 2004 - Dr. Andrew Tempelman returns after an entusiastic invitation by all. Given the interest in Mel Gibson's movie the Passion of Christ, Dr. Tempelman will review how the story of Christ's life and death has evolved over the centuries through the Gospels. He has continued his historical research even since his last presentation to us and he will reveal fascinating new insights to the traditional story.

Dr. Tempelman is a retired Presbyterian minister and has been an innkeeper in Milford for 2 decades at The Ram in the Thicket. He has also run for U.S. Senate, Hillsborough County Sheriff, and other political offices. Andy is an enthusiastic supporter of the general movement for political freedom for all and is a friend of the Free State Project and has been a board member of the Free Town Project Organization.
